About this trip

Welcome to our 5th edition of Africa Safari and Dental Mission happening from May28 of 2025 to June 6th. We will be performing actual dental work in an orphanage and some people from nearby villages in Eastern Kenya

Please note you do not have to be Dental or health care professional to join this trip.  We are looking for healthcare workers and good hearted individuals .You can bring your family with you or friends with you.

Your Safari Itinerary.

May 28th --Day 1
Nairobi
ARRIVAL TO NAIROBI CHECK INTO YOUR HOTEL
Eka hotel

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) around 8:00 PM, please have your passport ready for immigration processing. Our friendly driver and guide will be waiting to welcome you at the immigration point, holding a sign with your name for easy identification. They will assist you with your luggage and address any potential issues, such as missing or damaged items.

You will then be escorted to Eka Hotel Nairobi, a contemporary 4-star establishment conveniently located just a short drive from the airport. The hotel offers well-appointed rooms, a restaurant and bar, a gym, a swimming pool, and a wellness center, ensuring a comfortable stay. 

After checking in, you can enjoy a delightful dinner at the hotel's restaurant, which serves international cuisine and fresh seafood. Following your meal, you are invited to relax and unwind for the night, preparing for the adventures that await you in Kenya.

MAY 29TH DAY 2
Nairobi
COFFEE FARM TOUR/BOMAS OF KENYA CULTURAL DANCES AND TOUR
Coffee farm excursion

We will have a late morning start and you can sleep in on this day. We leave our hotel and head over to Karunguru Coffee farm in Kiambu which is about 1hr away. We will drive through the city as we explore the city on our way to this beautiful coffee farm established in 1926. After the arrival Walk/drive  through the farm and see the coffee trees followed by view and talk on the processing of coffee. You get to roast some coffee which you will take home. Lastly you sit and drink freshly brewed coffee with some refreshments as we prepare for 3 course lunch buffet offered in the 1926 guest house.  After that we will drive back through the city to the Bomas of Kenya. This is a cultural village that recreates and preserves Kenya’s traditional heritages. The village offers the chance to see reconstructed villages, watch traditional performances, check out arts and handicrafts.  We will then return to the hotel for an evening of relaxation as we get ready to explore Nairobi National Park, the elephant orphanage and giraffe center the next day.  

MAY 30th DAY 3
Nairobi
NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK, GIRAFFE CENTRE AND LUNCH AT KAREN BLIXEN

Begin your day with an early breakfast before departing for Nairobi National Park, a unique wildlife reserve located just outside the city. Here, you'll embark on a guided game drive, offering the chance to observe a variety of animals, including lions, giraffes, rhinos, and numerous bird species, all set against the backdrop of Nairobi's skyline. 

Following the safari, visit the Giraffe Centre, where you can learn about and interact with the endangered Rothschild giraffes. This conservation and education center allows visitors to feed and observe these gentle giants up close, offering a memorable experience.

For lunch, proceed to the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of the renowned author of "Out of Africa." The museum's serene gardens provide a picturesque setting for a meal, allowing you to immerse yourself in the history and ambiance of the place.

After lunch, embark on a scenic three-hour drive to Chuka, situated on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya. Upon arrival, check into the Lowlands Hotel and Spa, where you can enjoy dinner and unwind, preparing for the upcoming activities.

MAY 31st DAY 4

DENTAL MISSION DAY

After an early breakfast, our team will proceed to the designated venue to provide dental care to over 100 children and local residents from the village. Lunch will be delivered to the site, and the orphanage will also offer snacks throughout the day. Upon completion of our services, we will return to The Lowlands Hotel for a group dinner with local volunteers and orphanage staff. Following dinner, we will host a social night to reflect on the day's experiences, share stories, and strengthen our bonds with the community. Overnight accommodations will be at The Lowlands Hotel.

June 1st Day 5
Samburu
CHUKA TO HOME OF SPECIAL 5 IN SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

After a leisurely morning to recuperate from the previous day's activities, we'll enjoy a late breakfast before departing for Samburu National Reserve. En route, we'll make a stop in Nanyuki, a town situated near the equator, offering a unique opportunity to experience both hemispheres simultaneously. This pause allows us to stretch, enjoy the local scenery, and perhaps visit notable landmarks such as the Equator Marker or the vibrant local markets.

Continuing our journey, we'll arrive in Samburu in time for a late lunch. Samburu National Reserve is renowned for its unique wildlife, often referred to as the "Samburu Special Five," which includes the Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and beisa oryx—species predominantly found in this region. 

Our accommodation for the night will be at Samburu Simba Lodge, which overlooks the Buffalo Springs and the Uaso Nyiro River, offering an up-close and personal African experience. From your room, you'll have a fantastic view over the plains, where elephants and rare game such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, beisa oryx, and long-necked gerenuk can be seen grazing. 

After lunch, we'll embark on an afternoon game drive en route to our lodge, immersing ourselves in the reserve's diverse landscapes and observing its distinctive fauna. As the evening approaches, we'll return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation, reflecting on the day's experiences amidst the tranquil ambiance of the African wilderness.

June 2nd Day 6

Experience the captivating wildlife of Samburu National Reserve with both morning and evening game drives, offering opportunities to observe unique species such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, and beisa oryx. After a leisurely lunch, guests can unwind with a refreshing swim in the lodge's pool, which overlooks the expansive plains where elephants often graze. All meals are provided, with dinner served at the lodge, followed by an overnight stay at Samburu Simba Lodge.

June 3rd Day 7
Nakuru
LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

After a hearty breakfast at Samburu Simba Lodge, we will depart for Nakuru, traversing Kenya's scenic landscapes. Midway, we'll pause in Nyahururu for lunch at The Panari Resort Nyahururu, a serene retreat nestled amidst 20 acres of tranquil forest and overlooking the breathtaking Thompson Falls gorge. Post-lunch, our journey continues to Nakuru town, where we'll arrive in the late afternoon. Here, we'll check into Lake Nakuru Lodge, an eco-friendly establishment offering unobstructed views of Lake Nakuru and its surrounding wildlife.The evening is reserved for dinner at the lodge, followed by relaxation and an overnight stay, preparing us for the adventures ahead.

June 4th Day 8
Maasai Mara
LEAVE FOR WORLD FAMOUS MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

 Start your day with an early breakfast at the lodge, where you can enjoy a delicious meal to fuel up for the day ahead. After breakfast, you’ll depart for a thrilling game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, where you’ll have the chance to see a variety of wildlife.

Following the game drive, we’ll journey towards the Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most famous game reserves. The drive offers breathtaking views of the landscapes, and you may even spot wildlife along the way. Upon arrival at Sopa Lodge in Masai Mara, you’ll check in and settle into your comfortable accommodations, which offer stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere.

After a delicious lunch at the lodge, take some time to unwind and explore the surroundings. In the late afternoon, you’ll head out for an exciting evening game drive in Masai Mara. This is a great opportunity to see the wildlife at its most active, as animals are often on the move during the cooler hours of the day. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and relax for the night.

June 5th Day 9

MAASAI MARA FULL DAY/ BALLOON FLIGHT

Start your day with an early breakfast at the lodge, preparing for a truly unforgettable experience in the Masai Mara. You will then head out for a morning hot air balloon safari over the stunning Mara plains. As the balloon rises with the first light of dawn, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the savanna, spotting wildlife from a unique perspective. The ride culminates with a celebratory champagne breakfast in the heart of the Mara, an extraordinary experience in the midst of nature.

After the balloon ride and breakfast, return to the lodge to relax and refresh. Then, enjoy an exciting game drive across the Masai Mara, where you will explore the park’s diverse landscapes, from open grasslands to riverine forests, in search of the abundant wildlife that calls the Mara home. Expect to see the Big Five, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and many more species in this iconic safari destination.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, you have the option to visit a Masai Village, where you’ll learn about the local Maasai culture, traditions, and way of life. You can interact with the community, witness traditional dances, and explore their beautiful handicrafts.

If you prefer to continue your safari adventure, you can opt for another game drive in the late afternoon, as wildlife tends to be most active during the cooler hours of the day.

Conclude your full day with a delicious dinner back at the lodge, reflecting on an amazing day of wildlife encounters and cultural experiences.

June 6th Day 10

Leave Masai Mara for Nairobi or extend to Coast Beach Excursion

Start your day with an early morning game drive as you leave the lodge, heading towards Nairobi. This is your final opportunity to spot any wildlife in the Masai Mara as you journey through the park’s stunning landscapes. After the game drive, we’ll head to Nairobi for a delicious lunch at the iconic Carnivore Restaurant, famous for its wide variety of meats and authentic Kenyan flavors.

Following lunch, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel of choice in Nairobi to freshen up and relax before your departure. You can opt for Eka Hotel or Crowne Plaza, both offering day-use facilities and transfer services to the airport.

For those continuing on a coastal extension trip, you’ll be taken to the airport to catch your flight to your coastal beach resort for the next part of your adventure.

On your departure day, you'll take a flight from Diani Airport (Ukunda Airstrip) to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Nairobi). This flight typically lasts about 45 minutes to 1 hour, providing a scenic aerial view of Kenya’s coast and landscapes.

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be ready for your international departure. Our team will ensure your smooth transfer from the airport, assisting you with any arrangements to get to your terminal on time for check-in.

We’ll make sure your journey from Diani to Nairobi is seamless so you can focus on enjoying the final moments of your trip before heading home.
