About this trip

Welcome to our 5th edition of Africa Safari and Dental Mission happening from May28 of 2025 to June 6th. We will be performing actual dental work in an orphanage and some people from nearby villages in Eastern Kenya

Please note you do not have to be Dental or health care professional to join this trip. We are looking for healthcare workers and good hearted individuals .You can bring your family with you or friends with you.

May 28th --Day 1

ARRIVAL TO NAIROBI CHECK INTO YOUR HOTEL

Arrive at JKIA around 8PM. Have your passport ready for stamping. Karibu( Welcome to) Kenya:) Your driver and guide will meet you at immigration point and take you to Eka hotel for the night. He will have help to move the luggage and also will have rep to take of any airport issues like missing or damaged luggage. Check in have Dinner at the hotel and relax for the night

May 28th --Day 1

MAY 29TH DAY 2

COFFEE FARM TOUR/BOMAS OF KENYA CULTURAL DANCES AND TOUR

We will have a late morning start and you can sleep in on this day. We leave our hotel and head over to Karunguru Coffee farm in Kiambu which is about 1hr away. We will drive through the city as we explore the city on our way to this beautiful coffee farm established in 1926. After the arrival Walk/drive through the farm and see the coffee trees followed by view and talk on the processing of coffee. You get to roast some coffee which you will take home. Lastly you sit and drink freshly brewed coffee with some refreshments as we prepare for 3 course lunch buffet offered in the 1926 guest house. After that we will drive back through the city to the Bomas of Kenya. This is a cultural village that recreates and preserves Kenya’s traditional heritages. The village offers the chance to see reconstructed villages, watch traditional performances, check out arts and handicrafts. We will then return to the hotel for an evening of relaxation as we get ready to explore Nairobi National Park, the elephant orphanage and giraffe center the next day.

MAY 29TH DAY 2

May 30th-Day 3

NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK, ELEPHANT OPRHANAGE AND LUNCH AT KAREN BLIXEN

Early morning breakfast then head to Nairobi National Park. Discover the beauty of Nairobi National Park on this unforgettable tour. See wildlife in their natural habitat, including lions, giraffes, and rhinos. Take in stunning views of the park’s savannah and enjoy a guided game drive. Nairobi National Park is a unique ecosystem that combines wildlife and city life. Stop for lunch at Karen Blixen Conservatory ( Movie Out of Africa is based on this place). After lunch we will embark on a 3hr drive to Eastern slopes of Mt Kenya in Chuka where we will arrive in time for dinner and relaxation as we get ready for our dental mission the next day.

MAY 31 ST DAY 4

DENTAL MISSION DAY

We will have an early breakfast and then transfer to venue where we will be performing actual dental work to over 100 kids and locals from the village. We will have our lunch brought to the site and also the orphanage does offer some snacks through the day. After we are done we will transfer to hotel for a group dinner with local volunteers and staff from the orphanage. Overnight and relaxation at The Lowlands Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

MAY 31 ST DAY 4

CHUKA TO HOME OF SPECIAL 5 IN SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

June 1st Day 5

Easy morning as people relax from yesterdays hard work at the orphanage. After late breakfast, we have time to leave for Samburu late lunch on arrival. Samburu is known as home to the special 5 because of its very unique animals only found there. Arrive later in the afternoon and proceed with game drives on our way to the lodge to have lunch. Game drives till late evening and then back to lodge for dinner.

Leave Samburu after breakfast for Nakuru Lunch at Nyahururu (Panari Hotel). Proceed to Nakuru town for dinner and overnight Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

June 4th Day 8

Wake up for an early breakfast Leave for game drives inside Lake Nakuru National Park as we leave for Masai mara Visit a Masai Village before entering park and driving towards our lodge with game drives en route. We shall be arriving at the lodge at 6.00 PM check in and wait for dinner Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Dinner

Leave Masai Mara for Nairobi or extend to Coast Beach Excursion

June 6th Day 10

Early morning game drive on our way out of the lodge towards Nairobi. Lunch at Carnivore restaurant. Our driver will drop you to the hotel of your choice to fresh up before your departure. You can use Eka hotel or crown plaza for day use and they have transfer services to airport. Those doing coastal extension trip will be taken to the airport to catch their flight to the coastal beach resort.

Leave Masai Mara for Nairobi or extend to Coast Beach Excursion

Departure from Diani to Nairobi

June 7th--9th

Visit Diani Beach, touted as one of Africa's best beaches. Excursions included are wasini dolphin tours with a marine park visit and lunch, and evening at Kongo river sunset boat tours. These are included in our package and are part of the package to guests. Should you choose to remain behind and laze around the pool in your resort you are welcome 🙂

  I just co-hosted the latest Safari N Smiles trip with founder, Morris. Getting to see some of the behind-the-scenes work in action was such a treat. Not only are SNS creating beautiful and amazing experiences for travelers, but they also care deeply about the impact they can create to support the people of Kenya and other African nations.

With a trip of 20 people, everything felt seamless and very personal. We were picked up by team members from the airport, and the rest was taken care of. The moment we arrived, we were taken care of. From life-changing safari adventures in the Maasai Mara to a beautiful few days at the Indian Ocean in Diani Beach, this trip is one that will always be a top memory.   I recently had the pleasure of joining Safari N Smiles in Kenya, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! The trip was exceptionally well-organized, with the perfect balance of thrilling activities and relaxation so there was never a dull moment.

One of the highlights was experiencing the Masai Mara from a hot air balloon at sunrise - truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The safaris themselves were breathtaking, with knowledgeable staff who enhanced our experience with their expertise and passion for wildlife. The food throughout the trip was second to none and the accommodation was great.

I also had the opportunity to connect with like-minded innovators who have became good friends along the way.

This trip was worth every penny, leaving me with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for the beauty of Kenya.

  This trip was an unforgettable experience in so many ways. It was so well organised and I always felt at ease. We got to experience a truly authentic slice of Kenya and so so many beautiful sights. There really is no other place on earth like Africa.
I have made new friendships with some amazing people on this trip.
The food, scenery and accommodation was top notch.
A truly inspiring trip I will remember for the rest of my life.

  Morris and Lizzie thought of everything!! Such an incredible way to pay it forward with the dental camp at Chuka. Hospitality oozed everywhere. Travel was well planned with stops along the way. Very well educated and pleasant Safari guides. Resorts were top notch. Staff nurse at Maasai Mara was a life saver when my husband became ill. Saw ALL the classic African animals plus more. Will never forget the Maasai dancers singing to celebrate our 40th anniversary! Hot air balloon over Serengeti had me awestruck.   During my recent visit to Accra, Ghana, I had the incredible opportunity to join the Safari’N’Smiles dental mission, an experience that profoundly impacted me both personally and professionally. This mission was not just about exploring the rich culture and history of Ghana but also about making a tangible difference in the lives of a small village’s beautiful people by providing free dental care.

The warmth and gratitude we received from the villagers were beyond words. Their smiles, enriched by the care they received, were a testament to the importance and impact of such missions. It was enlightening to learn firsthand about the challenges faced in areas with limited access to dental care and immensely rewarding to be part of a solution, even if just for a short while.

The organizational aspect of Safari’N’Smiles was impeccable, ensuring that volunteers could focus on what they came to do: help. Moreover, being immersed in the Ghanaian culture, from their delicious cuisine to their vibrant music and traditions, added an invaluable layer to this already unique experience.

I cannot recommend Safari’N’Smiles enough to anyone looking to contribute their skills for a noble cause while embracing the adventure of learning and growing through new cultural experiences. It’s an enriching journey that offers more than just volunteer work; it’s a chance to touch lives, including your own, in ways you never imagined possible.
